The longest river on Santo, the Sarakata flows from the volcanic interior to the sea near Luganville. Guided kayak tours follow its middle reaches through rainforest, passing traditional villages and swimming holes. The lower river is also excellent for fly fishing.
Named by early missionaries, the Jordan River is fed by the same underground aquifer system as Santo's famous blue holes, giving its water an extraordinary clarity. The river passes through the Loru Conservation Area, a protected forest reserve with rare birds and bats.
The Riri River is best experienced by traditional dugout canoe, guided by local villagers through a canopy of overhanging jungle. The river leads to the Riri Blue Hole — a rewarding combination of cultural encounter and natural wonder in a single half-day journey.
